President
David’s 18 years of experience in the architectural field combined with his personalized client attention has elevated DJA to one of the most exciting architecture firms in the Roaring Fork Valley. Although his work ranges from the western United States to the Caribbean, David is best known for his single-family, residential projects in the Rocky Mountains surrounding Aspen, Colo.

David moved to Aspen in 1991 from Cincinnati, Ohio, where he began his architectural career. He founded David Johnston Architects, PC, in th e summer of 1997, and has since created a versatile firm with projects ranging in both scope and style.

David is a registered architect in multiple states, and has served on the City of Aspen’s Planning and Zoning Board, Design Review Committees, and various other local organizations.
